THEY TERRORISED HER IN HER OWN HOME IN HORRENDOUS CHRISTMAS ORDEAL

- By ROB KENNEDY Court reporter

SADISTIC thugs held a woman in a dog kennel, hit her with a dog lead and threatened to rape her during a horrendous Christmas ordeal which only ended when she leapt out of second floor window.

Between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, the victim was falsely imprisoned in her own home and subjected to shocking mental and physical abuse.

Newcastle Crown Court heard the woman had been friends with Dean Wilkinson for many years and she had previously given him a home.

She did so again just before Christmas 2023 and he was staying with her in Kenton, Newcastle.

Judge Julie Clemitson said: "You repaid that by terrorising her for some time to the point she jumped out of an upstairs window to escape, breaking her leg and back in the process. This was over a protracted period of time, about two-and-a-half days and there was an element of somewhat sadistic conduct."

On December 23, the woman got home to find Wilkinson had tidied up and was there with Dale Fowler and another person, neither of whom she knew.

Later that day, or early on Christmas Eve, after some coming and goings, the woman was at home with Wilkinson and Fowler.
