Tunnel's weekend work ends

TYNE Tunnel bosses have confirmed weekend closures for maintenance work are now complete.
-
The works have seen weekend service reduced with just one tunnel operating, which has had an impact on traffic. That was due to maintenance needed on the northbound tunnel. This work began in June 2024 and had been scheduled to finish in spring this year ~ but it was extended.
Now tunnel bosses at TT2 Limited confirmed the work has finished.
