FOOTBALL fans all over Newcastle celebrated the return of the UEFA Champions League to Tyneside on Thursday.

Hours before Newcastle United played Barcelona at St James’ Park, supporters piled into city centre venues, including STACK, The Mayfair and WonderBar.
There were lengthy queues as fans tried to get into STACK, while other supporters got themselves set in The Mayfair and WonderBar for pre-match drinks.
The city was awash with black and white, something which became even more apparent inside the stadium.
