Suspected drink-driver fell off motorbike

Tyler Bell

A SUSPECTED drink-driver fell off the back of a motorbike as he tried to flee from police outside a busy Northumberland bar.

Officers had attended an area near Bubbles, in Ashington, after receiving reports of a possible motorcyclist who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

When Tyler Bell spotted the constables, he tried to speed off but immediately fell off the bike, a court was told. The 20-year-old then tried to flee on foot but was easily detained and arrested.

However, once back at the police station, Bell, who was also found in possession of ketamine, refused to provide a breath sample, prosecutors said. He also had no insurance or licence to ride the motorbike.
