Striker rivalry could be the key to our success

REGIS Le Bris reckons the healthy competition between strikers Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda can drive Sunderland on as his team take on Blackburn Rovers today.
Speaking ahead of the visit from Rovers to the Stadium of Light, the club's head coach highlighted how both forwards are pushing each other to improve and are both at "a high level."
He reckons both offer contrasting styles that give his side valuable flexibility in attack, even though Isidor hasn't scored in the last 10 matches and has gone off the boil since making his move to the Black Cats permanent following a loan spell.
"We have two strong strikers with different qualities," he said.
"With Wilson, a little bit more in behind, and with Eli, he has an ability to keep the ball under pressure.
"To have two different players at such a high level is really positive.
One can start and the other can finish the game, and we have to balance the game time at the moment."
