Plant-based diet boosts health, say campaigners

PETA Protest at Newcastle Grey's Monument urging a pro-vegan plea

Supporters of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) dressed in poop emoji costumes gathered at Grey’s Monument on Wednesday in a bid to get their message across.

According to research commissioned by laxative brand Movicol, many “often suffer in silence” with people in the UK feeling more comfortable “talking about politics, money, and religion than their poo habits”.

Brad Read, Global Medical Director from Movicol, said: “It’s vital we break down the stigma around constipation and encourage open communications to normalise conversations around bowel health.”
