IT IS JUST MINUTES FROM BALTIC AND GLASSHOUSE

- By OWEN YOUNGER Reporter

THE leader of Gateshead Council has opened a new £23million car park just minutes from the Baltic art centre and the Glasshouse. Councillor Martin Gannon cut the ribbon earlier this week, officially opening up the parking facility to the public.

The multi-storey cark park on Quays Boulevard has over 1,000 spaces, as well as the largest amount of EV chargers in the area, with 50 bays available. It was commissioned to 'future proof' the area for parking demand, as well as to serve wider development in the area.

Councillor Gannon said: "This is a hugely impressive facility, and it's going to be so important to help grow the economy in this part of the borough.
