Murphy: It's a bad day - but we won't panic

JACOB Murphy has insisted there is no panic in the Newcastle dressing room after the Magpies’ alarming 3-1 defeat at the hands of crisis club West Ham, writes LEE RYDER.

The forward netted the opener at the London Stadium, but his teammates could not build on it, and while West Ham deserved credit for their battling spirit, Newcastle created 12 goal attempts and had 62% possession in the capital.

Wasted chances were certainly a factor for the Magpies, who now move on to the Champions League and a clash with Athletic Bilbao.
