Mother and brother charged over fire death

FOUR people have been charged nearly three years after the death of a teenager in a house fire.

Among those charged are the mother and brother of teenager Leah Casson who died in a fire at a home on Vicarage Street in North Shields, in the early hours of January 16, 2023.

Emergency services attended where 18-year-old Leah died at the scene.
