Lewis 'in no man's land' after exit
The Chronicle
|November 15, 2025
EX-NEWCASTLE United Jamal Lewis admits he was left in "no man's land" after his release from St James' Park this summer.
-
Once deemed a real coup after the Magpies got in under the noses of Liverpool to sign the nippy fullback from Norwich for £15million in 2020, his five years on Tyneside proved to be an injury-ravaged nightmare.
The Magpies tried to get their money back on the defender after a loan to Watford but the Hornets opted against an obligation to pay a fee for the star.
Another loan move to Sao Paulo also turned sour for Lewis after injury. And so his contract slowly ran down with the defender signed by Steve Bruce, then released by Eddie Howe.
