Howe's first focus is on Leverkusen

United boss Eddie Howe does not believe the distraction of the Champions League this week will affect their Wear-Tyne derby preparations.Howe guided his side to a narrow 2-1 win over Burnley at St James' Park and a victory at the Stadium of Light will take them above the Wearsiders.
Given the plaudits that Sunderland have enjoyed this season, and the scrutiny that Howe has experienced, with the likes of Jamie Carragher and Simon Jordan saying he has taken United as far as they can go, it will be a sweet victory for the head coach if he can see off the Black Cats.
