NEWCASTLE United are confident that they can get plenty of game-time from £55m star Yoane Wissa before he hooks up with DR Congo for the African Cup of Nations.

- By LEE RYDER

The 29-year-old - who is yet to kick a ball for the Magpies after his big money move from Brentford - has been training one on one with the backroom team and is working around the clock to be fit. The next step for Wissa will be for him to rejoin the group, something United staff hope to see before the end of this month.

There is an outside chance that Wissa could make the bench for the game at Everton on November 29. However, Newcastle won't put pressure on him because of the nature of his knee problem.
