Dealer sent messages marketing drugs to buy

A DRUG dealer who sent thousands of bulk marketing messages and raked in £35,000 in payments from people has walked free from court.

Mohamad Alam went from heavy user to dealer in cannabis, magic mushrooms and LSD after his habit landed him in debt.

His offending came to light following the arrest of another man for an unrelated matter in January 2023. That person's phone was examined and showed he had received a number of bulk messages offering drugs for sale.

In January 2023, some 2,719 such marketing messages had been sent from a number that turned out to be Alam's phone.

In March that year, a warrant was executed at his home and items were seized, including cannabis worth more than £300, scales and £220 cash.
