IN the Premier League, Sunderland made a paltry 75 all out at home to Chester-le-Street, with Sebastian Hughes-Pinan taking 4-16 and Quin-tin Hughes 3-17.

The Cestrians then had Matthew Cranston crack 40 not out from 28 balls, to win the game on 76-0.

Ashington were asked to bat first at home to champions Burnmoor - Alex Charnley hit 58 and Ben Harmison 38, in their total of 205-8, while Sean Tin-dale claimed 3-33.

‘The title winners then made a good start, as Marcus Brown made a rapid 88 runs, alongside Ross Greenwell (52), as they put on 149 runs for the first wicket. Ryan Pringle then fired 33 not out from 14 balls, to secure the win on 211-2.

Hetton Lyons had a good win, as they racked up the runs at home to Castle Eden, with Robert Talbot smashing 68, George Fishwick 38, Chris Winn 33, and Stuart Walker in their total of 249 all out, as Callum Appleby and Jonny Malkin shared six wickets between them.

Eden then started badly, but John Spelman made 31, then Mandeep Singh fired 83 not out and JP Meade 52 and they had three run outs in a short space of time, falling all out for 210 runs.

Felling had Ben Robinson to thank at Newcastle, as he made 81 runs in their total of 225 all out, with Ed Hurst then hitting 78, with Joseph Stuart taking 3-33.

‘The hosts then struggled to 20-3, but Matthew Stewart made 39, George Darwood 34, and Tom Fletcher 46.
