Chefs have hot plans at new venue

The new venue is currently being fitted out and is set to offer a unique dining experience

Led by chef-owner Cal Byerley and head chef Ian Waller, PYR promises to bring a ‘live fire kitchen’ to the rooftop venue that is to offer drinking, dining and music when it opens next month.

The pair say their latest venture will use smoke, char and heat to shape a seasonal menu designed around British cooking that will feature North East produce.

Diners will sample seafood from the region's coast, prime cuts from nearby farms and seasonal vegetables sourced from small-scale growers.
