Charity asks us to spare a fiver and feed a friend

THE People's Kitchen has launched its Christmas campaign. And as the Newcastle charity celebrates its 40th year, it is bringing back its 'Feed a Friend for a Fiver' initiative as it supports the homeless and vulnerable in the city.

For £5, donors can provide a hot festive meal, companionship, and support for someone who would otherwise go without these things this Christmas.

The campaign is about more than food, it's a promise of friendship to people in need.

As the charity is operated entirely by volunteers, every penny raised goes directly to supporting those in need. Any funds not used during the festive season will help to provide meals throughout the coming year.
