Cats lose to Hull in disappointing friendly defeat
The Chronicle
|July 30, 2025
SUNDERLAND'S preseason continued with another defeat at Hull City last night.
Simon Adingra scored his first goal since completing a summer move from Brighton & Hove Albion before the Black Cats were quickly pegged back after an error led to Nathan Tinsdale equalising for the Championship side.
And the Tigers completed a turnaround in the second half when Abu Kamara finished well 15-minutes from time.
Regis Le Bris continued to be without the likes of Anthony Patterson, Chris Rigg and Wilson Isidor through injury as nine of the 11 who started Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Hearts began the night at Hull - Niall Huggins and Dan Neil dropping down to the bench in favour of Harrison Jones and Habib Diarra.
Trai Hume had the game’s first sight of goal when volleying over from Enzo Le Fee’s corner before the hosts ought to have taken the lead after Ryan Giles’ low cross found its way to Kamara inside the penalty area but the winger placed wide of the post.
