Big wheel's in motion for a stunning view of the city

NEWCASTLE Christmas Market is back - and on top of the new vendors taking part, there is another very obvious additional feature.

A giant Ferris wheel at the bottom of Old Eldon Square has been taking shape for the past week or so.

Along with the carousel, it gives visitors to the market another exciting experience to try.

The huge structure looks most impressive as it rises skyward out of the bustling festive scene.

In fact, the giant wheel fits in to its surroundings so well it's almost as if it has always been there.

I had to give it a go.
