How dad's horror accident led to crime novel success

A DAD'S life was altered "in a single moment" when he chose to work late one evening. Michael Davies, an Ellesmere Port resident, was employed as an operating theatre practitioner for the NHS and decided to stay on after hours to assist patients involved in a road traffic accident.

The 48-year-old said he “could've never imagined” the subsequent events which led to “life-changing injuries”.

In a “terrifying fall”, Michael lost sensation in one of his legs and one of his arms, resulting in him being wheelchair-bound and later requiring a walking stick.

The father-of-four said: “In 2023, a single fall changed everything. I stayed late at work to help with a road traffic accident and fell onto some building materials in the dark.

“I transitioned from standing strong to living each day with a numb left leg, a weakened right hand, and the harsh reality that I can no longer perform the work I once loved.
