PLANS to build Ellesmere Port's first Lidl supermarket on the site of a soon-to-be demolished GP surgery have been given the go-ahead.

The discount retailer's bid to construct a store on the site of the existing Great Sutton Medical Practice on Old Chester Road has now been rubber-stamped.
The GP surgery will be demolished once the new state-of-the-art medical centre is operational across the road later this year. The development also includes a new village hall and scout hut.
