In a historic moment for Indian and Asian fencing, Rajeev Mehta was elected as the Secretary-General of the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA) during the General Assembly held on December 1 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Mehta's appointment represents a major milestone, making him the first Indian to assume this influential leadership position within the FCA, which oversees the sport across 46 member nations.
Rajeev Mehta's election reflects the growing prominence of Indian sports administrators in global and continental sports governance. Currently serving as the Secretary-General of the Fencing Association of India, Mehta brings to the FCA extensive administrative experience and a reputation for fostering organizational growth. His previous leadership roles include serving as the President of the Fencing Association of India from 2017 to 2021 and as Secretary-General of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), where he played a transformative role in the development of Indian sports.
