The Punjab State Human Rights Commission (PSHRC) held a crucial meeting to address the pressing issue of drug addiction in the state’s prisons
The meeting, presided over by PSHRC Chairperson Justice Sant Parkash, brought together key stakeholders and experts to deliberate on the challenges within the prison systems of Punjab and Chandigarh.
During the meeting, ADGP Arun Pal Singh highlighted the pressing issue of drug addiction among convicts, with recent studies indicating that 42% of prisoners grapple with addiction.
