PM Modi announces Rs 2L compensation for Kin of Delhi fire tragedy victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund will be provided to the families of each deceased in the tragic hospital fire in Delhi, where at least seven newborns lost their lives.

"In the wake of the fire tragedy at a hospital in Delhi, the Prime Minister has announced that an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. Rs. 50,000 would be given to each of those injured," the Prime Ministers' office posted on X.
PM Modi also expressed sadness over the fire tragedy.
"The fire tragedy at a hospital in Delhi is heartrending. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this incredibly difficult time. I pray that those injured recover at the earliest," PM Modi posted on X.
This comes after seven newborns died in the fire tragedy.
Meanwhile, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo said that the Commission has taken cognizance of the fire tragedy.
"The Commission has taken cognizance of the incident of fire in a hospital in Vivek Vihar area in Delhi and the death of newborn babies. A team of CrPC @NCPCR will visit the hospital today to investigate the incident.
