Outrage in Haryana Over MP's Son's Job Amid Sexual Harassment Charges

He was appointed AAG despite pending sexual harassment charges
The Haryana government is facing severe criticism over its decision to appoint Vikas Barala, son of BJP MP Subhash Barala, as Assistant Advocate General (AAG).
The controversy stems from the fact that Vikas Barala is currently out on bail in a 2017 stalking and attempted kidnapping case involving Varnika Kundu, the daughter of a senior IAS officer.
The official notification of appointments lists Barala among more than 90 newly appointed law officers who will represent the state in various legal forums, including the Supreme Court.
His selection has prompted widespread condemnation from opposition parties, women's rights activists, and the general public, many of whom see the move as deeply insensitive given the nature of the pending charges against him.
In August 2017, Vikas Barala and his friend were accused of chasing and attempting to forcibly enter the car of Varnika Kundu in Chandigarh.
