Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) on October 27, 2023, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The IMC is the largest telecom, media, and technology forum in Asia, held from October 27 to 29, 2023, with the theme 'Global Digital Innovation.' During the event, the Prime Minister awarded 100 5G Use Case Labs' to educational institutions across the country.
Industry leaders from leading telecommunication companies interacted with the Prime Minister during the event. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, accompanied the Prime Minister and explained his company's work in the telecommunications sector. He highlighted Reliance Jio's Space Fibre initiative, capable of speeds up to 1 Gbps, and showcased the Jio Bharat device, offering 4G services.
