India has not yet made a decision on whether to join the trade pillar of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), a 14-member grouping, according to a senior official.

The IPEF, launched by the US and other partner countries of the Indo-Pacific region, comprises four pillars covering trade, supply chains, clean economy, and fair economy. India has already joined the first three pillars but has not committed to the trade component. Negotiations are underway on separate agreements for each pillar.
