India and Iran explore enhanced cooperation in recent talks

On Monday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was hosted by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Tehran.

The leaders discussed expanding bilateral and multilateral ties within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and BRICS.
In a post on X, the Iranian Foreign Ministry conveyed, “Today, I hosted Indian FM @DrSJaishankar, and we discussed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the Zionist regime’s #genocide & crimes against Palestinians. We also discussed expanding bilateral & multilateral ties within the #Shanghai Org. & #BRICS.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister shared that they discussed the latest international and regional developments, including the Israel-Hamas war. AmirAbdollahian emphasized the importance of ensuring security in international waterways near Iran.
In a statement to X, AmirAbdollahian said, “Today in Tehran, I hosted Mr Subramaniam Jaishankar @ DrSJaishankar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India. We discussed the latest international and regional developments, especially the genocide and crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians.”
