Govt developing Industrial Corridors to rival top global manufacturing and investment hubs

The Indian government is actively developing industrial corridor projects under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) to establish greenfield industrial areas, regions, and nodes, aiming to compete with leading global manufacturing and investment destinations.
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, shared these details in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Under the NICDP, notable initiatives in Maharashtra include the Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area (SBIA) and the Dighi Port Industrial Area (DPIA).
These projects are crucial for promoting industrial development in the region.
Furthermore, the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) has been conceptualized based on the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) to enhance industrial connectivity and logistics.
