Global entities call on Taliban to reopen girls' schools

As the world observed the International Day of Education international organizations have united in calling for the immediate lifting of the ban on girls' education in Afghanistan, a restriction that has persisted for over two years.

According to a report by TOLO News, the UN special envoy for Afghanistan, Roza Otunbayeva, along with Amnesty International, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Food Programme, and other global entities, urged the Taliban to revoke the ban on girls' access to education.
In a video released on social media by UNAMA News, Roza Otunbayeva underscored the significance of providing education for all, emphasizing that it forms the foundation for Afghanistan's future. She asserted that education is not just a fundamental right but a crucial element for the prosperity and peace of the nation. Otunbayeva further stated that the demand for the reopening of schools is not limited to Western nations but is also echoed by the Muslim world.
