The pilgrims were seen lining up in huge queues outside the base camp, filled with anticipation and high spirits. The authorities have put in place tight security arrangements to ensure the safety of the pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
The Amarnath Yatra is an important religious journey for Hindus, who visit the Amarnath Cave, believed to be the sacred abode of Lord Shiva. The pilgrimage spans 62 days, starting on July 1 and concluding on August 31. The journey commences from the ancient paths of Nunwan in Pahalgam and Baltal in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir, where devotees embark on their solemn trek.
