CONGRESS LEADERS MEET FARMERS IN NAGOLE ON MUSI RIVERFRONT PROJECT: TELANGANA

MEDCHAL Congress leaders, including Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), convened a meeting with farmers in Nagole to discuss the Musi Riverfront Development Project, which they deemed vital for the agricultural community in the region.

The initiative aims to revitalize the Musi River and its surroundings, thereby enhancing the ecosystem and promoting economic growth. This project is crucial for the farming community, as over one lakh acres of farmland are situated along the Musi River, which spans six to seven Assembly constituencies.

During the meeting, Congress MP Kiran Kumar Chamala emphasized the need for the project, highlighting the severe pollution affecting the Musi River. He pointed out that the river has been contaminated with drainage and industrial waste, urging that it requires rejuvenation to support the farmers and their livelihoods. "At the end of the day, Musi needs rejuvenation. This is the message we want to convey to our farmers. We plan to take this initiative to the grassroots level, reaching villages and ensuring that farmers understand the importance of restoring the Musi River," he stated.
