The geographical conditions of the state have always been unfavorable for the availability of water, but the residents here never let this challenge become a crisis of life.

CM BAHJAN LAL'S WATER VISION: TRANSFORMING TRADITION INTO POLICY

They developed various types of water storage structures according to their needs and regional geographical conditions.

Traditional water structures like Bawdi, Johar, Tanka, Nadi, Khadin and Kund, developed in the sandy land of western Rajasthan, present a unique model of water conservation and management, which is relevant and inspiring even today.

Similarly, 'Johar' has been a major structure in the Shekhawati region, which collects rainwater and helps in groundwater recharge. 'Bawdi' and 'Talab' in the Mewar region, small dams and 'check dams' were built in eastern districts like Alwar and Bharatpur to stop rainwater from the hills, which stored water and made it useful in agriculture.

All these traditional structures not only show an understanding of local needs, but also present an excellent example of community participation and environmental balance.

RAJASTHAN'S NEW WATER VISION- BACK TO THE ROOTS Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is committed to turning Rajasthan's age-old water conservation customs into a modern, structured policy.

Under his leadership, the state has launched several key campaigns focused on environmental sustainability and water self-reliance.

Initiatives like Hariyalon Rajasthan, Jal Swavalamban Abhiyan 2.0, and Vande Ganga - Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan have become catalysts in making water conservation a statewide people's movement.

These efforts not only strengthen the availability of water resources but also breathe new life into Rajasthan's cultural legacy.
