Cleantech Solar launches India's first VPPA operation

Cleantech Solar, a prominent provider of renewable energy solutions for businesses in India and Southeast Asia, is pleased to announce the successful launch of its inaugural Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA).

The electricity generated by this operational solar power facility in India is now being supplied to the energy exchange, with its renewable attributes removed. The project has been officially registered under the International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-REC) framework, and the renewable attributes, represented by I-RECS, are being procured by a leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company through a virtual PPA. This marks one of the initial instances of an operational VPPA facility in India.
