An ambitious mission to restore the Yamuna River to its original, unspoiled state is poised to gain significant momentum, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a series of major developmental projects worth over Rs 1,816 crore on Thursday, October 9.
This large-scale initiative represents a pivotal milestone in the ongoing drive to eliminate pollution from the Yamuna and rejuvenate one of India’s most revered rivers. The projects include a blend of clean water supply schemes and focused interventions designed to purify the river and curb the discharge of untreated wastewater into its course.
