Achieving a major breakthrough in the Delhi Red Fort Metro blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the close aide of the suicide bomber, Dr Umar Un Nabi, from Delhi.

The accused reportedly facilitated the purchase of the i20 car used for the tragic blast.

"The NIA has arrested a Kashmiri resident who had conspired with the suicide bomber to carry out the terror attack," the investigation agency said in a statement. Over 10 people died and 30 suffered injuries in the tragic blast on November 10. The accused was identified as Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir. According to sleuths, the car used for the blast was registered in Ali's name, and he was in close touch with Dr Nabi. "The accused had conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, to unleash the terror attack," it said.
