Metro rail plan gains momentum in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad

The Union government has shown a positive stance towards the proposed metro rail project in Jharkhand’s three major cities—Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad. In a significant move, it has asked the state government to submitan updated Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) for these urban centres, signalling a step forward in the long-awaited project.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed the Urban Development and Housing Department to expedite the preparation of the new CMP. In response, the department has already issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select agencies for drafting the updated plan.
