Winners and losers

As in any contest, there are winners and losers.

The recently held local election is no different. Not remarkably, some of the biggest winners and losers were celebrities.

The big winners include the likes of Vilma Santos-Recto, Arjo Atayde, Aiko Melendez, Alfred Vargas, and Joaquin Domagoso.

Vilma was also able to secure the governorship of Batangas.

Her son, Ryan Christian Recto, is now representative of the 6th District of Batangas.

Not so, err, lucky, is her other son, Luis 'Lucky' Manzano, who failed in his bid as Batangas vice governor.

Arjo won a second term as congressman in Quezon City's First District.

Aiko and Alfred both secured a second term as councilor in the fifth District of Quezon City.
