The Lidasan clan condemned on Thursday, March 27, the brutal killing of Commission on Elections official Bai Maceda Lidasan Abo and her husband, Datu Jojo Abo, in Barangay Makir in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte on Wednesday, March 26.

The couple was on their way to Bai's office in Dalican onboard a Sports Utility Vehicle when unidentified gunmen ambushed them.

Their son, James, confirmed the tragic incident.

In a statement, the Lidasan clan described the incident as a cowardly act of violence. They said that prior to the attack, Bai told them that she received threats, "an ominous warning that tragically became reality."
