|July 20, 2025
Security forces across the country have launched extensive search and rescue efforts amid the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm “Crising” and the southwest monsoon (habagat) affecting various regions.
The combined weather systems have affected more than 96,000 residents, triggered widespread flooding and landslides, and left at least three people missing, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Saturday, July 19.
Twenty-six areas were flooded in Regions 1, 4B, 6, 7, 9, 12, and 13.
Meanwhile, three individuals were reported missing in Western Visayas— one of the most affected regions—and the NDRRMC is validating details of the cases.
A tree was uprooted in Barangay Lapaz Tubog, Hamtic, Antique, hitting and totally damaging a house, while a landslide destroyed four houses in Barangay Bacalan, Sebaste, Antique.
