It should not have taken suffering for winter fuel payments to return to our pensioners

Calling for fairer measures to relieve the cost of living crisis

I’m relieved the Government has finally reversed the most harmful winter fuel payment cuts.

I and my Liberal Democrat colleagues opposed this woeful decision from the get-go, but it should not have taken countless pensioners in Epsom and Ewell suffering, and a battering at the ballot box to force this U-turn.

Ashtead and Leatherhead have some brilliant organisations that have stepped up to support those who need it the most during this cost-of-living crisis, so I brought some of those brilliant groups together with others from across our constituency for a cost of living roundtable event.
