Appeal launched after kittens are dumped in wood
Surrey Advertiser
|June 05, 2026
THE discovery of eight abandoned kittens in a Surrey woodland has led a rescue charity to launch an appeal for help.
Byfleet Cat Rescue is asking for help to locate the kittens’ mother alongside any others which may still be missing.
It comes after a member of the public discovered a box in Ashtead Woods which contained eight abandoned kittens on Monday afternoon.
The kittens were later taken to Wildlife Aid in Leatherhead, where one of Byfleet Cat Rescue's volunteers was present.
They are now receiving the care they need according to the rescue charity.
