Sunderland boost set-piece approach via Brayne power

Regis Le Bris will now benefit from James Brayne's set-piece expertise.

Sunderland have appointed James Brayne as a dedicated set-piece coach.

Brayne held the same role at Charlton Athletic over the last 18 months, and has also coached at Birmingham City and Manchester City.

Speaking after the earlier departure of assistant coach Pedro Ribeiro, Regis Le Bris confirmed that he was happy with the staff in place but identified set-pieces as one area that could be improved.

Brayne's arrival now concludes that process.

"We are really comfortable right now," Le Bris said.
