Specialist team launched to help tackle poverty

North East Mayor Kim McGuinness has launched a specialist team aimed at tackling poverty.

The Mayor has hired a municipal Innovation Team (i-team) - three specialised staff charged with helping local officials and civic partners find solutions that meet pressing local challenges including child poverty and rising energy costs.
The initiative is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies - a worldwide philanthropic initiatives of Michael R. Bloomberg, a billionaire businessman and former mayor of New York City.
