Police officers find new home to serve community

Northumbria Police have announced officers in Washington have a new home, several years after the town's police station was closed to the public.
Despite being closed to the public a number of years ago, the building next to the Galleries in Washington remained in the possession of Northumbria Police.
Northumbria Police have confirmed officers in Washington now have a new home after partnering with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service by relocating the Neighbourhood Policing Team to Washington Community Fire Station.
Area Commander for Sunderland, Chief Superintendent Mark Hall, said: "I'm delighted to announce our relocation to Washington Community Fire Station.
