Operators given go-ahead for more services on East Coast Main Line

East Coast Main Line train operators have been granted permission to run additional services on the key North East rail link from December.

Regulator the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) said it approved some proposals from open access operators Lumo and Grand Central to enhance their timetables.

The approvals include Lumo being allowed to provide additional services between Newcastle and London King's Cross and extending its London King's Cross to Edinburgh services to Glasgow.
