Just champion! Fighter Katrina's the world's best

A Wearside mum and mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter has been crowned world champion.

Former St Antony's pupil Katrina Fisher has been in Tibilisi, Georgia, representing England at the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation World Championships, where she overcame three of the toughest women in the world, including Hungary's Szalai Greta in the final, to take the gold medal.

Katrina, who is also a coach and co-owner of TFT MMA in Seaham, said: “I won with a unanimous decision and to become world champion on this stage, with the support of my family, our gym, and our community, is a dream come true.
