DETERMINED ROSE SHEDS HALF HER BODY WEIGHT

A WOMAN who said her body would “hang over the seat” on public transport and “impinge on [her] fellow travellers” has lost over half her body weight.

Rose Mary Halliwell discovered a love for travelling abroad but found it difficult to cope with the heat because of her weight.

Sweat would cause her body to chafe, her feet would swell and she struggled to bend down to put socks on or fasten her shoes.

But when her husband fell ill the couple's life changed forever. Suddenly life revolved around hospital visits three times a week, constant care and special diets to manage his conditions.

During this time Rose, 76, lost 7st from her size 28-30 figure as her life centred on providing the best care for her husband.

However when he passed away, Rose said she struggled to motivate herself to lose more weight.

That was until she received the news that her daughter was getting married. This gave her the motivation to shed a further 6st, resulting in a total weight loss of 13st.
