Mobility scooter crashes reach all-time high

A RECORD number of mobility scooter drivers were killed or seriously injured in crashes last year.
Department of Transport figures for 2024 reveal 12 were killed in accidents and 75 were in crashes that caused the drivers serious injuries such as broken bones.
The number of these types of accident has increased almost 60% in the past 10 years, the figures reveal.
And last year there were another 190 crashes which led to less serious injures such as cuts and grazes.
