New weapons factories and more troops too
SIX munitions factories costing £1.5billion are to be built to “deter adversaries”, Defence Secretary John Healey said yesterday.
It came as Labour also promised a 30% boost in armed forces recruitment and the procurement of up to 7,000 UK-built long-range weapons as part of the government's Strategic Defence Review ensuring “always on” munitions production that can be scaled up fast.
