Massive season for roaring 40s Brit & his GOAT dreams But Ferrari are also under pressure and Vasseur must deliver No World drivers' title since 2007 makes Red giant the Man Utd of F1

LEW'S GREIGHT EXPECTATIONS

LEWIS HAMILTON will have to rewrite the history books again to become the greatest World Formula One champion of all time.

And the Brit, who turned 41 last Wednesday, is under no illusions about the difficulty of his task at Ferrari.

Only two men have ever lifted the title past their 41st birthdays and both Juan Manuel Fangio and Giuseppe Farina did it in the 1950s.

Today's F1 is a different beast.

Hamilton shares the honour of seven World titles with Michael Schumacher. Fangio only got five.

But since his last title, with Mercedes in 2020, Hamilton's results have been chequered to say the least.

The Brit endured a rotten debut season at Ferrari despite all the fanfare around his arrival, and is now weeks away from learning how the rest of his time in red is likely to go.
